With the upcoming 2024 Paris Olympics, the International Olympic Committee (IOC) aimed to create a new digital platform for fans, viewers, and future Olympians to delve into the rich history of the Games.
Having digitized over 700,000 artifacts, we developed an interactive timeline gallery where users can scroll through the history of the Olympics and explore the games themselves. Within each artifact, we utilized AI to transcribe, identify, and caption each object, facilitating categorization and tagging at scale. This immediately translated into improved findability of artifacts within the search and filter functionality.
Additionally, we focused on creating a better-connected experience for Olympic Museums worldwide by refining the visitor experience and integrating innovative technologies. A streamlined booking process simplified access for visitors, and a hyper-personalized itinerary ensured a tailored journey based on individual preferences. The introduction of an AR artifact explorer brought exhibits to life, allowing patrons to interact with historical artifacts in a captivating and immersive way.
The IOC was thoroughly impressed with this future vision of their digital platform and is now currently in production with phase 1 launching in early 2024.
